Well, really not shoes and it is only just one and not a pair, but saying that Mamma has a new brace thing-a-ma-gig just didn't sound right.
This boot might look awful, but I am so happy about it! It means that I can be off crutches and walk without pain. It is a bit large and awkward, but means freedom for me! Now I can get out of the house, carry things while walking and many other things I wasn't able to do when I was on crutches. Not sure yet how long I will have to wear it, until I get an MRI to determine whether I need surgery, but at least I can do most of the things I normally could do. Thank God for modern medicine!
I was telling Josh that if I lived in another country, this simple topple down the stairs could have crippled me for life. It is crazy to think that injuries that we consider minor here could be very serious in places where there is no access to or no money for medical treatment.
I am off to do something on this beautiful day. Not sure what - but I can go - so I will!
