If you sponsor a child through Compassion and you have a desire to pray for him or her, but you don't always know specifically what to pray, there is a great resource on the Compassion website. It is called "52 Ways to pray for Kids" and it gives you ideas for things you can concentrate your prayers on for each week of the year.
While you are there, you can browse the Country News section of your child's country to see if there are specific issues the country is currently handling or facing that may affect your child.
Really, the entire site is so full of information and helpful links, it would take me several hours to list them all. If you haven't visited the web site recently or ever, please take time to go to it now.
Even if you do not sponsor a child yourself (or even if you do), I ask that you visit this page and pray by name for the first 5 children listed. Or go to this page and pray by name that these children who have been waiting for 6 months or longer would grow in Christ at the program, despite their lack of sponsorship, and that they would not get discouraged without the relationship with a sponsor. There are so many ways to pray...for the countries who are in crisis or experiencing natural disaster or political unrest or corruption or lack of resources.

Thanks Jennifer! I'll have to check that out. I'm curious about where my compassion kids live and what issues they may face there. Had fun visiting with you today!! :)
